Are defaults prone to changing (I'm not questioning your judgment. I'm changing it now. Just wondering)? >>

In general, I try not to mess with settings I don't need to change :P. I'm known for crashing things when I sneeze wrong.

If you instantiate SB_IO, and don't know what PIN_TYPE does, then you are doing it wrong. 1/

(I DID read what PIN_TYPE does... I'm not THAT lazy :P. It's just that the I/O cells are more involved than I expected lol)

If I thought I could add that sort of command to arachne-pnr/PCF files in reasonable time I would do it already :P.

Are there any plans to add pullups/io standards to Arachne?

As PCF flag? Yes, but don't hold your breath. It's not my top priority and cotton hasn't done much lately on arachne-pnr.

I'd do it myself if I had the time to really read your bitstream format docs. They're... not an easy read.

You don't need the bitstream docs for that. Just set PULLUP on the SB_IO cell inferred by arachne-pnr for the IO pin.

I'll take a look this weekend when I have the chance. PULLUP is easy; IOstandard is bank-specific.

I think it's OK to ask a user to instantiate SB_IO for LVSD inputs. All other IO standards don't imply changes to the bit-stream.

(I've noticed that IO standard support isn't very meaningful on SiliconBlue FPGAs, based on SB_IO description)
