Today I wrote my first little demo in @MyHDL. So far I like it more than @chiselhdl.. Thoughts / arguments / flame wars anyone?

@oe1cxw@MyHDL @chiselhdl Chisel is a terrible language, has no reason to exist. I'm surprised why anybody would waste any time on it.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

@nachiketkapre@MyHDL @chiselhdl I think my problems with Chisel have more to do with the JVM and Scala than with Chisel itself.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@oe1cxw@MyHDL @chiselhdl Angling for a#flamewar :P Chisel's just too obtuse, tricky to reason about control, solves no real need...3 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

@nachiketkapre@MyHDL @chiselhdl So do you think there is a space (need) for a "higher level HDL" like Chisel or MyHDL at all?2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

@oe1cxw@MyHDL @chiselhdl Maybe there still is for "domains".. But any language that throws out physicality of the design is bad? RLOCs?1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

@nachiketkapre@MyHDL @chiselhdl That's at least an argument for Chisel over MyHDL: How do you do floorplanning without HDL hierarchy?3 replies 1 retweet 1 like
@jandecaluwe_en It's not just floorplanning of course. There are many reasons for not wanting to synthesize a large design in one big piece.
