Non competes are unenforceable in Europe if they restrict your opportunity for employment. If you can afford a lawyer they can keep you out of the line of fire for the most part. At the very least they might bring some clarity. I've found lawyers to be great against bullies.
I've already spent thousands of EUR on lawyers fees in the last months.
