If you don't engage in a legal battle with him, he'll engage in a legal battle with you. You need to be the one on the top. As for panic attacks, maybe you should book an appointment with a psychologist? I have no experience in that field at all, but it has helped some people.
If I leave EDA there won't be a legal battle bc there are no grounds. I can pay a lawyer to have such a thing thrown out without me having to engage with it at all.

So sorry to read about this. Sounds like you need someone to help you talk with a lawyer and understand the situation and potentially represent you in sorting it out. Maybe it's not as big a mess as you think and better options are available without messy fights.

I'm sure you know this but contracts often don't mean what they say and are used as extra-legal tools to control people e.g. by stipulating unreasonable conditions that are not actually legal to put into contracts. You need legal advice to understand what a contract really means.

I was assuming a scenario where you stay in the industry, thus he sues you. If you like the work, you really shouldn't change professions just because someone is a prick and wants to make your life as hard as possible. You can do it!
