Yea, I don't get why there's ROT13 either... maybe a deterrent for the first 50% who don't want to dig deeper for the string "ERROR" (and manually override the build to keep going)?
Without rot13 and when building with PRETTY=0 you'd see "ERROR: ..." scrolling by just from printing those commands. The rot13 makes sure you only see "ERROR: ..." in the build log when there's been an error.
