Somewhere off in the distance, my swabian mom can be heard yelling that no, the only *proper* way to do it is to skillfully scrape them off a cutting board with a knife in just the right shape, the way her mom did it...
That's how my granny makes them. But we'd call that Nockerl because (at least in my mind) Spätzle are smaller than what a sane person with limited time would make using the cut-and-scrape technique..
