I think it’s in the category of “things that aren’t necessarily behavior defined in the spec but are possibly valid and useful for some compilers and architectures”. Not sure why you’d need this in application code though.
There is no problem here with strict aliasing here because the object the pointer is pointing to is never accessed using any type other than T.
