As a trans woman, writing a tweet about something trans-positive and getting lots of likes/RTs with zero transphobic or misogynistic comments is a trans twitter checkmate.

I get almost no negative replies to my trans tweets, but I consistently lose approximately 5 followers for each trans related tweet. The Joys of having had a lot of followers before coming out I guess..

I probably shouldn't give a damn but I'm only trans tweeting at a rate that keeps my follower count approximately stable. Slowly replacing tech bros without pronouns in bio with tech bros with pronouns in bio..

This this happens to me, too. When I tweet about trans stuff, some of my followers not only unfollow but go back and ‘unlike’ a tweet that went viral (thanks to Emmy) that had nothing to do with trans issues! I don’t mind, but I wish they’d stay and open their minds just a little
