"if a service is free" ... actually we are paying a lot of money for zoom licenses.

"if you're paying less than it costs" is probably a better way to put that. i'm still amazed that people PAY to put an amazon listening device in their houses.

I agree. However, at least in our case, we are paying significantly more than what it would cost us to operate our own say jitsi server 24/7 that would have a capacity far beyond what we are using. It's safe to say that we are not "paying less than it costs".
