An overwhelmed medical system will result in massively higher mortality rates. This will result not in 0.87% mortality but 10%+, not to mention otherwise treatable deaths from all other causes (including cronic illness) due to medical care being *unavailable*. Unbelievable.

I suspect fatality rate switches from 1% to 5-10% as soon as the hospital system is overwhelmed. A significant chunk of the 5-10% is otherwise completely healthy first responders and healthcare workers unfortunately.

I've been all around the Bay Area a bit over a week ago, but not actually in Santa Clara. But I cancelled my trips for laat week and ever since I have returned I take my temperature twice a day. I waa outside twice the last few days and Vienna is a ghost town right now.
