thermo pot. fixes this problem almost entirely.

the problem is that I like weakass tea and can't drink it if the leaves stay in it for more than 3 minutes... once that step is done my tea goes in the thermos and is good for up to 8h! but to get there I often need several attempts

Now I wanna build a 3-minute-tee-maker contraption out of Lego, purely mechanical (including a mechanical timer) for extra credits.

ooh I can see the rube goldberg machine... other than the timer I guess all you need is a pulley and a counterweight to release to pull the tea-egg out... so better get creative on that timer

I actually thought of maybe either lowering the container with the tea from a stationary tea egg and/or just opening a valve to release the tea into the thermos, or something similar.

if you have to buy things that's cheating. only things that you happen to have lying around at home count. (challenge mode: my house has zero nerd stuff lying around. I don't even know how to solder. there are large amounts of cardboard though.)

Cardboard challenge accepted! It only needs to work once, right? Like an egg drop. :D

I'll classify that as a win condition if the normal tea ustensils remain in a usable form for the next time. There's a lot of cardboard to use up.
