It is worse when the driver insists on following the app directions and spends 10 minutes trying to make an unguarded left turn when there is a dedicated left turn signal one block ahead.

I had the opposite experience recently. We put the address of a church, and rather than dropping us at the stairs leading up to it, the taxi went some back-alley route with extreme inclines to drive us to the top of the stairs, because the app said so.
