Men of twitter: tell me about a nonviolent approach you use to call out or confront misogynistic comments or behavior. How often do you use it? Do you feel like it creates dialogue? Is there an especially positive outcome that stuck with you?
As man I had a lot of social anxiety and any kind of interpersonal conflict was very hard to navigate. So most of the time I didn't call out misogynistic comments, or did it in ways way to subtle for the other person to get. 1/2

But the one thing I did often, and always felt safe doing, is saying "Huh. Can you explain that joke? I didn't get it." whenever someone told joke that was misogynistic or otherwise bad taste. 2/2
