Same. Or similar. I can't do any eye makeup that would require me to paint my waterline and I am a bit sad about it. I have no idea how anyone is doing that without flinching constantly and ultimately stabbing their eye. I've now decided to revisit the subject in a few months..

YouTube is amazing for learning about this when you decide to revisit! I've learned a ton about makeup application from there just by searching for whatever thing I was trying to conceal or enhance or what I was using if I wanted to know how to use properly. The search is amazing
Oh yes, absolutely. I'm watching so many makeup tutorials on YouTube lately.. :D But I feel the issues I have with painting the waterline is just something that I must "train" until I get used to it. 1/

When I first tried to apply eyeliner to my upper lid it was impossible. And now it's not a big deal anymore. (I still flinch occasionally, which causes a huge mess each time, but it's getting better. :) But I feel like I make no such progress with the waterline. :( 2/2

Whenever my calligraphy attempts fail repeatedly it usually is the hand positioning. Something easy to overlook. Check how they position & move their hand/pen. Wrist move ? Ellbow move ? Pen angle ? I would assume a similar issue.
