Naive attempt to plop my system onto ECP5 gets me around 60 MHz, which is less than I hoped. There are plenty of tricks that can net me more fmax at the cost of area. Annoyingly I still get best fmax by setting --freq to 12 MHz. Increasing --freq gives me a slower outcome.
Oh apparently Vexriscv is around 75 MHz on ECP5, that makes me feel better. I could maybe get close just by disabling RV-C support and splitting the I/D bus master on processor. I should also try and push my code through ISE and see how my old Spartan 6 LX9 boards cope
New year's resolution: my processor is going to run DooM before the end of the year
@ico_TC why did you retweet this I was hoping to forget
No chance! I want to see doom on an ECP5 with open source tools. So I also RT'ed.
