Who decided that decades start at xxx0 even though centuries start at xx01? What were they smoking? Are there only 9 years in the first decade of the gregorian calendar?
Uhh, * is a really bad and dangerous argument. So many people in history (and still today) have murdered others so they are taken seriously. They should not get their way. On the contrary. In many such cases the only sane reaction is to mock them for their lack of arguments.

No need to spell it out: I’m British and we grow up learning that the French Revolution was a bad thing precisely because of this.
