With such a raving recommendation i will have to watch it on my next plane Flight. :) I was considering to watch anyways but now I am curious how bad it is ;)
Watched Ad Astra on the plane yesterday. Wow. Such a bad movie. I have no idea what all the hype is about.

I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts on it. I wouldn't have expected it to make sense on a physics level, but I think it is also extremely bad storytelling wise. For example, pretty much everyone's motivation seems to be "because the script said so".

I liked it but I think the problem is that people expect it to be a sci-fi movie when it's actually a drama movie with stars in the background.

Yeah, but it's a pretty badly written drama. It's like the space sci-fi is not well thought out because it's just meant to be backdrop for the drama, and the drama isn't well thought out because it's just meant as backdrop for the space sci-fi.
