Yosys has a function log_ping() that essentially just prints __FILE__ and __LINE__. I think every piece of software that has its own logging infrastructure should have a function like that.

I have something similar in OpenRAM with different log levels too. Though I wish I hadn't reinvented the wheel and just used the Python log module which I later learned about. In particular, I want to have a "tag" option in addition to levels to log certain parts.
