If I ever design an FPGA, it'll have hexagonal tiles. So you can play Settlers of Catan on it for competitive PnR.

Vaguely, but no, sorry. Some FPGAs have had direct routing from logic cluster [i,j] to logic clusters [i+-1,j+-1].
iCE40 does that with LUT/FF outputs. (we don't show this in the nextpnr GUI btw because it would look a bit confusing. instead, the outputs of the 8 neighbor tiles show up as 8x8=64 short wire stubs directly next to the local switchbox in the tile view.)
