What's you CAS of choice? I use Maxima, or Matlab it I can't get a PDE to solve.
The abomination from my post was done with Maxima and http://svn.clifford.at/tools/trunk/maxtract/ …. I haven't used Maxima in many years. Played a bit with sympy and it's good as well, but back when I compared them Maxima could do much more. No idea how they'd compare now.
