I’ve been doing low level programming for 40 years and I’ve never put a colon in the middle of a hex memory address!
I think it is/was pretty common to use segment:offset when dealing with addresses in segmented memory. What syntax would you prefer?

So you never programmed for x86 real mode (i.e. MS-DOS or Windows before Win95)? I commend you for your excellent life choices. ;)
