This 'issue' made the rounds a few years ago with a different equation. The only interesting aspect I found was different calculators gave different results (TI and Casio IIRC). It's the math geek equivalent to English's Oxford comma debate
Except that in the Oxford comma debate one of the alternatives is objectively correct, universally superior, and unequivocally better. :D
