True. But I don't get the impression from the OP that that's what happened here. But IDK of course. Also, by this argument people shouldn't read any papers in their field, because very often one can infer a papers author just by being familiar with their previous work.
Which implies double blind reviews might not be the silver bullet to the bias. But right, the OP was not talking about posting on arXiv during a double blind review. I was giving a requested db review as an example of when you shouldn’t preprint.
Available evidence indicates success rate in that is lower than many believe.
