It's really confusing in the US with several states and cities having the same name. At least Washington DC got rectified

Dead serious. Even when it's literally the same street (not just streets with the same name). And then there's Foobar Ave != Foobar Dr != N Foobar Ave etc. It's like they don't even try.

Don't even get me started on N. Foobar in city A, and S. Foobar in city B. That everyone just calls Foobar, that each have descending address numbers from the city A-B border. "Oh, you mean the OTHER 1234 Foobar". (Yes, that really happened to me when I moved there
