On @DeepMindAI AlphaStar: It's _very_ impressive! No question about that. But I'm not so convinced by that APM argument re "unfair advantage" wrt microing. And the whole focus / framing / accessing unit properties story is also pretty fishy.
But AlphaStar gets information that a human player wouldn't get unless they move the section of the map they see. That's totally different from the chess example.

Imagine, you play speed chess, but can only look at the squares around exactly one piece, that is 3*3 total. Then you need to spend time to switch between pieces to stitch the board situation together from those 3*3 pictures. All while the AI can see the whole board and continues

playing at instant speed. Better comparison? In SC2, basically in every RTS, situational awareness is one of the main challenges & takes a serious amount of the finite resource that is attention the player has. Also, fast&precise unit selection is sth. that pros practice a lot!
