you know what i'd really like to learn? how did PCI-SIG manage to design PCIe so nicely in spite of Intel being involved
I don't know anything about the PCIe design process specifically, but I know stories of industry SIGs where every night someone else had to go out drinking excessively with the one "special" person to make sure they can't do too much damage to the standard the following day.
