this happens easy with FULL SMD connectors :(, thats why use always "paste in pin" versions where signal pads are SMD but housing through hole..
Afair @esden actually tested how hard it is to rip that USB connector of a board on a previous project and afair it was pretty hard to do, almost impossible to happen by accident. At least not by e.g. simply yanking on the USB cable.

I think in this case someone stepped onto the board and ripped the cable away from the board really hard, at an odd angle. The people that gave us the board were distraught that one of the two destroyed the board of the owner. In general be nice to your hardware and it will be ok

That’s my experience with the SMD USB micro connectors as well...it requires extreme force to break the connector off.
