I seem to recall Tuesday is the earliest people could get to their nearest polling place via horseback if they left home immediately after church service on Sunday. Makes perfect sense when you think about it.
Same in Austria. I've never spent more than a few minutes to cast my vote. Also: Of course we vote on a Sunday. To have elections on a day that is neither a public holiday nor on a weekend is completely insane! FYI - Where I live ballots are mailed out in advance. They can be mailed back via curb side mailbox by your house. My county even pays for the postage. The rest of the country is completely whacked and corrupt with minority voter suppression. So much for beacon of democracy.pic.twitter.com/tJ130EHJti
