clmul with -1 performs a prefix xor. Does anyone know a fancy use-case for that maybe?

I do, but I'm working on a paper at the moment that involves this. AND then CLMUL can also be used to pull out bits for PEXT/PDEP substitution if you are ready to do some 'fixing' of the mess created by having your lower-order moved bits recurring XOR'd into other bits.
