Can you name applications for CLMUL that are not CRC, GCM, hashing/rng, or Erasure Code? I'm trying to create a list of possible applications. #RISCV #Bitmanip #Followerpower cc @rygorous @geofflangdale @alt_kia @lemire @rrika9

I was once asked to factorize the result of a clmul back into it's components for a job interview.

I didn't understand the math behind it back then, so I just threw it at a SAT solver which worked until I went past 16 bits lol

Ah, yes, so that's “to serve as weird interview questions” and “to make solvers blow up”, although, to be fair, most of the ideas in CS have these two applications too.

Replying to @rep_stosq_void @rrika9
I used to do recreational math / puzzle solving. Now I sometimes recreationally throw a constraint solver at a puzzle. It's not the same experience..
