But maybe some war mongers need to be reminded, what a "civilian" feels, when buildings crumble with cancer inducing stone dust filling the lungs and loved ones get bombed/shot? Top politicians can try to escape, but in 21. century globalized world there is no escape any more.
I'd like to remind everyone that one of the main features of a functioning democracy is that it prevents civil war because it gives people a better path for enacting change. Civil war is prevented by government force rather than by democracy. Democracy is just a way of legitimising mob rule. Next time you go down the pub with your mates take a vote on who should pay the bill and then make them pay by force. See how you get on.

Republicans have been hell-bent on cutting off voter rights for years because it always benefits them. Its the same reason that the south wanted the 3/5ths compromise; disenfranchise the voice of the poor and consolidate power for the already wealthy.

In effect, Republicans are setting up the system so now politicians choose their voters, instead of the other way around. It's messed up in every way.
