I have so many questions... Aren't those blades in the wrong orientation for it to work? What power source did they put in the frame if they built it years ago? There's some ISM stuff out there that has some very, very low power power that could pull it off. Current draw in the uA range and can be on a low duty cycle.

Did the shredder stop halfway through the job? Exhausted its power budget? (I took one apart to fix it years ago - shredders take a surprising amount of energy to run...)

I agree about blade direction. Also unless the picture was already cut at the ends it must be driven into the blades - even less likely to work. Shredders I've seen use rollers that drive and cut at once.

Also good question about power. As already mentioned need lots of juice for the motor but batteries may have to last years.
