I have a feeling there is a competing platform that already does that… minus the ad part as it does not have a mechanism for those ;)
Twitter should rename "like" to "promote" and change the symbol to something neutral (such as a yellow star maybe 
). They should also rename "promoted tweet" to "ad".

I don't think the competing platform does that. The competing platform has a retweet-equivalent and an equivalent to the old "favorite" feature that doesn't promote the tweet on anyone elses timeline. I actually want and like the AI.
