Perhaps 'Capricorn One' and 'The China Syndrome'.... A sci-fi favorite of mine is 'Outland' with Sean Connery, not really similar, but weird and wonderful.

I loved Outland ( still do ). One of those SciFi movies that did horrible in the theaters but didn't stop me from thinking it was great. Probably says something about me. I'm not sure.
