Yes I agree, DPD is probably the worst parcel service. Certainly worse than UPS in my experience. I had so much troubles with DPD in the last 10 years that I'm now avoiding using DPD altogether in cases where I have any control over which service is used.

A few years ago I worked at a PCBA company in upstate NY. I spent an entire day in our freezing (unheated) loading dock in the winter, standing less than 5 feet from the door, waiting for a batch of PCBs to show up via FedEx.

Every few minutes, or whenever I heard a large engine, I opened the door to look for any signs of a delivery truck. At about 17:30, I saw a "sorry we missed you" sticker ON THE DOOR. The door I was standing a few feet from. I had heard NOTHING - no knock, no engine, etc.

Basically why I gave up and never order delivery in Germany, happens with any delivery company. Also when one's German is fairly basic it's slightly harder to deliver the opinion to these people .

apparently drivers do that to make quotas and if you do give them the package info they will cite the driver or suspend them
