If you think Vivado startup time is unbearable, try Unreal Editor.

Maybe the later versions of Unreal Editor are slower, but version 4.12 is about as slow as Vivado if memory serves.
Quite possible that they are in fact similar. I'm not running them from the same HD and I assume that disc throughput plays an important role in the startup time of both tools.

Yes, Vivado is slow. It's almost as slow starting up as Matlab. I blame cross-platform UI frameworks based on Java.
