If every incel somehow got a girlfriend, the net violence in the world would only go up. Because guys who think like this are violent to their girlfriends. It's not their singleness that's dangerous; it's the way they think about women.

Potentially but pessimistic me believes we already know how to change this but the change meets too much resistance. It’s like how we’ve spoken to rapists and they say, how we victim blame makes it’s easier for them. How it creates a target market. We still victim blame

I agree we unequivocally must not victim blame and first priority is to protect women from any kind of misogyny or abuse. But I hope we can do that *and* reach out to understand and heal at least some of the broken men who seek out these toxic communities.

I’m not sure I suggested mutual exclusivity. Especially considering we definitively would want to reach them before they fall down the rabbit hole and become radicalised. I don’t know the outcomes for de-radicalisation
