    Worth noting that despite the eye-popping rise in last weekend's Nikkei poll, its impact on the average was limited, not least because its sample size was only 990 respondents. (By comparison, Asahi's June poll had 1999 respondents and showed Abe government at -7 net.)

    A nice headline, and the Abe Administration will trumpet the figures, but not a major achievement in a supportive international environment post-devaluation goosed by a 5 percentage points higher consumption tax.
