The Hawk uses two acquisition radars. the continuous-wave acq. radar (CWAR), for low-altitudes and the pulse acquisition radar (PAR), which provides the volume air detection capability. With the Turkish crew, it is a serious threat to LNA aircraft. /1

The current location is within the LNA artillery range pending that they have adequate assets in the field. Once SA-3 arrives and deploys, it can provide additional cover and mutual protection. /2
