You voice is important. I live in Hawaii and much of the culture here is similar, but diluted through decades of appropriation. Thank you for informing your followers of the specifics of this seemingly harmless but incredibly disingenuous pandering.

Additionally, African-Americans sometimes wear kente stoles at graduations and other important ceremonies. There absolutely was no reason for THEM to just put them on for a photo op.

I think your comment is totally unfair to these leaders. Wearing a Kente is not disrespectful or whatever you want to call it.The Kente cloth is known to be a representation of "Unity in Strength" That is why our ancestors created it. I'm Ghanaian and an Ashanti.
