The Wii system update servers and the Wii Shop Channel (you should still be able to access it to re-download purchases) have down for a while today.
I wonder if Nintendo hasn’t noticed yet - their status page still lists everything as operational.

Seems like NUS as a whole is down unfortunately, on top of the services listed. Really hope this is an accidental blip. 🙁
I think they just don’t care, like the login server thing in 2020. I really think they have like newbies in the IT department, and they say “oh, do whatever you want, nobody uses this server” when people actually uses very frequently the Wii
