I'm honored to be delivering a SIGMOBILE Distinguished Lecture on Large Language Models and the End of Programming on February 16. Details and link to register is below!
what is it called when you think of a particular person/expert and then you are offered an intro to someone just like that out of the blue?
happened 3 times this week. thought -> action 💫
Raising seed in a hot sector? don’t get money from late stage VCs
1️⃣ ask how many seeds have they backed? Are they seed tourists because of hype?
2️⃣ they mostly deal with post pmf companies
3️⃣ they’ll expect you to execute vs venture (capital is to venture at seed to find pmf)
Just published, RFC 9335 provides a way to encrypt the most sensitive data in RTP packet headers, namely CSRCs (speaker ids) and header extensions (volume levels and other meta-info), all without changing the packet structure.
Big thanks to my co-authors,
A new Request for Comments is now available in online RFC libraries.
RFC 9335 - Completely Encrypting RTP Header Extensions and Contributing Sources (CRYPTEX)
Kudos to @juberti and @cfluffy for their work!
Next: libsrtp and libwebrtc support.

New friend: so you are from Europe?
Me: how can you tell, I haven’t said a word
Him: by your Adidas shoes, all the people I know who wear them are from Europe 😅
Founders, who are the series A infra investors you respect?
Asking for a founder about to raise A. We want to only work with the best.
Feel free to DM me if you don't feel comfortable publicly sharing. Also, who are the ones we should avoid
's CS25 class on Transformers!
The lecture was on how “emergent abilities” are unlocked by scaling up language models. Emergence is one of the most exciting phenomena in large LMs…

If I was a founder with no network, I’d just go to the South Park Blue Bottle and sit there and code.
Odds are that a VC, usually an older looking dude, will come up to talk with you and ask you what you’re building.
The café is packed with investor-founder meetings rn.
Poor man: Wow! Once I got rid of the goat, everything got so much better than before, everyone is happier and more agreeable. It really worked, thank you!
Moral of the story: is the status-quo really as bad as you think it is? Maybe it's time to get a goat?
Found at Safeway a flower I had in my garden in Romania. Happiness is the simple things. Spring is here 🌸
In a city always chasing what’s next, enjoy what’s now.
LLMs are not new, maybe that RL stuff with humans is the loop a bit new? What is innovative IMO is how they packaged their model it into a product that is used by millions. I can't think of a better illustration of scientists not appreciating product engineering work. twitter.com/ylecun/status/…
