Can someone who knows something about Chinese cooking recommend a kind of long-grain rice that’s available on Amazon? All I can find locally is store-brand and it’s not very good.

Go with a good jasmine rice, I find it's my goto for asian cooking unless I need something specifically short-grain. I checked a few of my chinese cookbooks, and chinese food blogs, and they recommend jasmine.
