Has anyone seen any discussion of intentionally infecting a steady number of healthy people to raise the fraction of folks with immunity? Seems like intentionally infecting and isolating volunteers who are least at risk could decrease the total fraction infected.
i forget where i saw this take, but the time for novel solutions is when there's high upside/low downside. i think this would be low upside (people would still have to tough out being infected) with unlimited downside (hospitals may get even more overwhelmed, people die anyway)

I hear you, but I think the downside is quite limited and very predictable given the circumstances. There is no low-downside option in front of us at the moment.
