This was annoying enough that I started testing out IntelliJ and Visual Studio Code. They ain't bad! I particularly liked two features of IntelliJ: easily running any code that has a main method or extends App and auto-complete of match and interfaces.

Using VS Code for Scala has gone from just-barely-usable to completely fantastic over the last year (assuming you installed Metals, which of course you did).
