Throw it, it's dead... it happened once to mine after winter... My lesson is to keep starter in a glass can, plastic allows bacteries/mold to hook better... and wash your can every week not to let yeast dry and mold...

yeah I probably should have dehydrated it more and froze it or something. i do my starters in glass mason jars anyhow. i wanted to keep the continuity going :(

tried to revive my rye starter twice now and both times it smells foul as shit (like vomit and not the normal fermenting fruit ~> acetone smell)
time to start from scratch again...
