time to quantify crispiness-per-square-inch and then scale the areas by the appropriate amount!

(in your case, the two 12" pizzas have to be 1/8th more tasty than the 18" pizza to justify buying them at the same price.)

I think it may come down to whether you like crust or not. The width of the crust band is invariant under scaling and you get almost 50% more with two 12" pies.

probably the right solution here is to use linear programming to model cheese area, sauce area, crust area, pie area, etc and optimize for a given set of preferences: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_programming …

all these fancy models and here i am with my own hot take: if it's not made in new york and in a true new york style it's crap

Friendly advice: if you care for your life, don’t take your hot take to Italy. Especially to Naples. We Italians Have Strong Opinions About Food ;-)

this advice being both threatening and helpful is extremely in the spirit of new york and i love it (eating neapolitan pizza in naples is definitely a bucket list item, one day...)

LOL also I’m not threatening, I’m just a poor Sicilian, and I happen to know mysterious accidents sometimes happen :-)
