Interesting. I don't get spasms but I do take L-Glutamine and BCAAs before working out which really help with energy during. Are you vegetarian?

I've heard good stuff about both especially BCAAs. I dont take anything else. I'm not weight lifting or even going to the gym. At the moment I'm only playing amateur league basketball
Part time vegetarian here. I do it for a few weeks then quit but my diet is mainly plant based1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

Oh, but that's still a workout! Nice. I'm a full-time pescitarian 100% for 2 years (before that once-a-week I ate chicken, and before that I used to eat red meat). I do gym and bouldering and the DOMS from both was out of this world for months. Like literally walking like Kryten.

Your protein shake should have BCAAs regardless to that would help for recovery, but I think it's important to take them in pure form (pills or drink, just going off my memory of the research) before/during/after exercise to get the real effects.

I do pills before and after (during is too much to organise) because I fear the drink will taste too sweet.

It's hard to quit sushi :) Are you doing it for health or ethical reasons? I'm still experimenting with my diet but saw a great difference when I quit sugar and caffeine for 3 months. I was headache free for a year after that. Anyways I miss bouldering so much now!

So I get migraines but I do take caffeine pills every morning, if I don't drink coffee. I don't eat sugar (refined sugar, fructose for example is fine) for various reasons mainly taste (no sweet tooth). I do it for a mix of ethical and health and just basic personal preference.

Reducing coffee to a set time and amount every morning helps my migraines. But for all other things to do with diet, I have to admit I haven't noticed a big difference in my health. I do have IBS though sadly, which is really annoying.

IBS ha? I've got something similar. Any problems with iron/hemoglobine (like me)? Migraines are a whole different thing I believe. Other factors like emotional stress, mould in the house can cause migraines too if I recall correctly

I don't think I have low iron TBH, but if you think you have IBS... have you tried cutting out (or even just reducing) FODMAPs? It's a tough ride. https://www.ibsdiets.org/fodmap-diet/fodmap-food-list/ …

Also use this overview to try and figure out what probiotic you might need to buy (you don't have to buy from that company):https://www.optibacprobiotics.co.uk/faq/which-probiotics-are-for-ibs …
