Like I genuinely want to scream when they touch my stuff. But it's not ideal to be so touchy since they are touching my touch stuff exactly because they kind of have to.

When I say stuff, I mean even the window. They have never touched a personal item.

I had builders drilling the wall next to my head almost every day for 2 years, deeply angering

One of those endless cellar expansions next door, we shared the wall

To rent it out as a separate flat, I assume. Basement flats can be nice but often they are kind of depressing.

Hang in there. We’ve gone through a similar journey with our place - ‘twas originally a damp wreck, then had an underfloor rat invasion (20+), but it’s amazing now and I’m sure yours will be too when finished!

Thank you! Yeah, we had so many sewer rats. I think they cured (exposure therapy?) my allergy to cats? Anyway it's certainly mostly gone, which is so strange after a lifetime just 1 and a half years with rats and *poof* gone!
