My advice to everyone if you can avoid ever getting serious work done to a place: avoid. Buy a place that's already ready. We thought we were doing a good job buying a place cheaper & doing it up but it's costed more & it's been so many sleepless nights of stress. Fucking London.

Fucking builders. Maybe in a few months I'll be like "worth it". But gotta stay realistic, we ended up paying way more and suffering so much. An already done up place would have not taken my life away these last 4 months.

I did the same, not in London but 5 years later and I mostly think it was worth it as everything is nearly how I want it. Even the so called perfect houses usually have plenty of problems. Builders are mostly awful though

That's so nice to hear. Nothing feels like it's how I want it because they don't seem to listen to me very much, always blame somebody else and have an excuse. Currently for example the counter top is in the way of a door all of which they build in contradiction to the plans.

Thank you. I'm trying hard to stay relaxed.
